At present, we are looking for an Accountant/Bookkeeper, interested in stepping into a vibrant, challenging, and active work environment. About the Job: Our Accountant/Bookkeeper will work closely with the Managing Partner and management team to manage and execute accounting and operating functions within the firm, along with supervising an accounting clerk.
Responsibilities include:
Full Cycle Accounting - Disbursements, receipts, billings, accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, bank reconciliations, statutory remittances, prepaid expenses, credit card statements, monthly lawyer reports, financial statements;
Trust Accounting - Trust transactions, TAF, trust report, CDIC filing;
Prepare and process payroll, T4s and T4As, benefits administration;
Year-End - Prepare and review financial statements for tax accountants to file T5013 Statement of Partnership Income; and
Other related accounting functions as required.
About our Ideal Candidate: Experience: 2+ years accounting experience, in a law firm environment is preferred. Education: Completed an Accounting Diploma/Degree Program or equivalent relevant work experience. CPA Designation an asset.
