Ian Whitaker

Ian’s practice is focused on civil litigation, with a specialization in high-risk insurance defence claims. He has conducted Judge-alone and Jury trials. His litigation experience also includes plaintiff personal injury work, estate litigation, matrimonial litigation, commercial litigation and employment law. He has appeared before the Supreme and Provincial Courts of British Columbia, and the B.C. Human Rights Tribunal.
Ian is a lifelong resident of the Lower Mainland, having grown up in Richmond, attending schools in Vancouver and Victoria, and currently residing in Tsawwassen with his family. As a supporter of the arts and library services, he has volunteered with the Vancouver Public Library, Richmond Public Library and is a former Board of Directors’ member of the Gateway Theater.
Outside of work Ian can be found with his two young daughters or looking after his wife’s Golden Lab.
