We are currently seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to join our team. This is a full time, permanent position with a competitive benefits and compensation package. Legal Administrative Assistant daily duties, under the guidance of a Lawyer and or Paralegal, include:
ï‚· Drafting and proofreading correspondence and standard BC Supreme Court forms;
ï‚· Maintaining a bring forward system, including determining deadlines in accordance with the BC Supreme Court Civil Rules and entering all mandatory deadlines into electronic format;
ï‚· Maintaining appropriate limitation dates where applicable;
 Scheduling trials, examinations for discovery, IME’s, conference calls, client meetings and independent initiation of all required correspondence associated therewith;
ï‚· Preparation of documents for experts;
ï‚· Preparation of exhibits for examination for discovery and trial;
ï‚· Review and preparation of bill payments as appropriate;
ï‚· Preparing and updating trial binders;
ï‚· Daily filing and photocopying;
ï‚· Opening files; Closing files, to include review of documents and exhibits and determination of documents to be destroyed and/or retained pursuant to Law Society Rules and Guidelines;
ï‚· Typing dictation/transcription; and
ï‚· Performing other related LAA tasks as requested by Lawyer. Your qualifications include:
ï‚· Successful completion of a Legal Administrative Assistant program from an accredited institution (certificate or diploma required);
ï‚· Excellent written and verbal English communication skills;
ï‚· Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), experience working with Worldox and Esilaw is an asset;
ï‚· Ability to multitask and prioritize work;
ï‚· Strong organizational skills;
ï‚· Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment; and
ï‚· An understanding of the British Columbia Supreme Court Civil Rules.
